Our FAQ’s page seeks to address any questions or apprehensions, new or existing customers, may have about our London Car Storage.

Our car storage facility in Wandsworth is located under a block of residential flats on Smugglers Way. It is easy to locate by foot, bus, car and train.
At our Central London Car Storage facility in Wandsworth, we have an on-site security presence 24/7, a comprehensive CCTV system and an advanced access control/barrier system that can prohibit/authorise movement into our facility.
At our facility, we take the privacy and security of our client’s vehicles very seriously and the security measures and procedures we have put in place validate this.
Our facility in Wandsworth is discreet and access is controlled. If you do not have a valid contract to store a car with us then you will not be able to obtain entry.
The entrance and exits to our facility is monitored by CCTV cameras which feed back to our Head Office.
Access in and out of our storage facility is very easy.
If you store a vehicle with us, you will be given 24/7 access rights.
You will not be required to pre book access to your vehicle nor will you be required to notify our team that you will be returning your vehicle to your allocated car storage space.
This flexible approach enables our clients to come and go at their leisure.
Approximately three quarters of the car storage spaces within our Wandsworth facility come with electric charging points. If you require trickle charging you will need to make your interest known when enquiring about a potential space.
Please note;
Any trickle charger plugged into one of our electric charging points must have a CE mark or be of an approved manufacturer standard.
We do not have the provision in place to charge hybrid or electric vehicles. A different power supply would be required.
Approximately 20 of our car storage spaces come with an air chamber (these air chambers are provided by Central London Car Storage at no additional cost).
Should you wish to get a better understanding as to the benefits of storing your vehicle in air chamber or if you would like to register your interest in renting a space with an air chamber, please get in touch.
Yes. Within our storage facility we have a designated washdown area.
Our washdown area comes equipped with an electric charging point and two hoses (one for washing and one for rinsing a vehicle).
There is no need to pre-book the washdown, you can just turn up and start using it. Our washdown is accessible 24/7.
Please note:
Third party contractors are not permitted to use either washdown area at any point.
If you would like your vehicle professionally cleaned whilst it is stored within our car storage facility, you can arrange this by contacting Carbon Detailing.
Carbon Detailing have been the authorised detailer within our Wandsworth facility for over five years and work closely with several of our clients.
Please note, this service is an additional cost, payable directly to Carbon Detailing.
Yes, absolutely! As all our storage spaces are numbered and allocated, you are welcome to alternate the vehicle(s) you store with us. The majority of our clients do this.
Should it be your intention to vary the car stored in your space, we will require both vehicle registrations.
From both a safety and security point of view, we do not permit any servicing or repairs to be carried out in our storage facility.
Should you need your vehicle to be recovered by a third party and taken off site then this can be arranged (arrangements will need to be made in advance by liaising with our Operations Director, Thomas). We also have jump leads and a battery pack on site, so can provide assistance, should you find that the battery in your vehicle is flat and you are unable to get it started.
All of our clients must ensure that their vehicle is insured with a British insurance company of repute to a minimum of third party liability standards.
When looking to obtain insurance, it is advantageous to make your insurance provider aware of the below:
Our facility is privately owned and managed (it is not a typical public car park).
Access to our facility is controlled and it is not open to general members of the public.
In addition, we have a 24/7 on site security presence.
All of our clients must ensure that their vehicle is insured with a British insurance company of repute to a minimum of third party liability standards.
Should your insurance company request details on the fire and sprinkler system and/or ventilation system that is installed within our car storage facilities, then we will of course be happy to provide it.
At Central London Car Storage, we require one months’ notice of vacation and this notice must be given in writing.
Once we have received your email and/or letter, we will send an email back acknowledging your intention to vacate.
Our email will also confirm your new, revised, contract end date as well as the procedure for departure.
From the 25th of October 2021, our car storage facility will fall within the new Ultra-Low Emission Zone.
In essence, for most cars, there will be a £12.50 per day charge for vehicles driving within the charge zone. Discounts apply for various categories including some residents, disabled drivers and historic vehicles.
No charges are made or apply for vehicles not driven (i.e. stored) within any 24 hour period.
Should you wish to store your car with us, we recommend that you satisfy yourself as to your vehicle’s liability for the charge to be applied and separately open an account with TFL to avoid any nasty shocks!
